My head and heart had been at odds for the last two years because of Devin McIntyre, and my relationship with Aiden had only complicated matters. Still, I craved both men. Just when I thought the decision was taken from me, a choice between the two became inevitable. The two men I had attached myself to emotionally and physically had already told me everything I needed to know. Although the dark clouds were gathering overhead, I ignored the lightning, played deaf to the thunder, and let the tempest push me toward them both. I ended up in a whirlwind of secrets, a vortex of deception and depravity I never imagined possible. I was drowning again, but this time … this time I would be ready. Or so I thought. Nothing could have prepared me for the coming storm. If you are not a fan of cursing, erotic and extremely explicit sex, cheating, immoral behavior, dysfunction or sexual scenarios that may make you feel uncomfortable this is not the series for you. FILTHY EROTIC ROMANCE
Amazing is what it was, my mind really was blown away by this final instalment in The Excess series.
Let me sum up the whole series for you –>
Nina Scott grew up with not a lot of money, and two parents who often fought about it. Now a millionaire divorcee, she is afraid that she has become the very person she swore she would never be. She is lonely and bitter and unhappy.
“My old life disappeared and my new one doesn’t suit me, either.
I’m not sure where I belong anymore.”
She has recently ended an affair with gruff Devin McIntyre, after learning he was hiding a wife. This doesn’t stop the her being attracted to him though, and finds he is still so very hard to resist.
When she stumbles across a bar one night, she is instantly drawn to the musician on stage, who also happens to be the owner, and when he doesn’t take no for an answer she decides to give him a chance, and they go on a date.
Aiden is nothing like Devin, he is a good man with a naughty mind and unlike Devin he is actually very nice to Nina, which she finds so refreshing. Still, he is very much a mystery and who knows what secrets we are yet to discover.
In the second instalment I was shocked to find that I fell hard for Devin! I hated him in Opulence and never in a million years did I think I would have a difficult decision to make as to which man to root for.
Aiden turned it up a notch in the bedroom, he seemed to know what Nina needed and was able to read her like a book. Nina however was still confused as to the shocking discovery she made at the end of book 1, so was determined to learn a little bit more about her new man.
In the final part, things got very interesting to say the least; it was intense, sexy and had me on the edge of my seat. There was no predictability whatsoever and what started off as a very confusing love triangle, suddenly becomes very clear indeed.
“You are all I want.”
“You are all I will ever want.”
“It is love Nina.”
This may push some readers limits, but for me it was wonderfully handled and I enjoyed every minute of it. Looking forward to reading Taylor’s story in the upcoming new series Untitled.
This is a mini trilogy, told in dual POV’s
