Book Blurb
When Jacob “Dax” Daxton returns home from war, he has to fight a new battle – the one to find his place in the world. The man who normally has a clear path to victory surrounded by brothers in combat is suddenly lost and alone. After meeting Beckett Ridge, a bearded tattoo artist, Dax’s journey begins winding down an unexpected path.

Still reeling from events that shook his foundation, Beck has never been part of anything meaningful. Now faced with responsibilities foreign and daunting, Dax’s broken spirit mends Beck in ways he never even knew he was destroyed.

As both struggle to find balance, they are healed by the comfort they find in one other. On the other side of chaos, they hope to find themselves On Solid Ground.

My Review
I did like this, it was sweet and fluffy and a very pleasant read.

Unfortunately for me, the chemistry which was there at the beginning seemed to fizzle out.

Dax, an ex-soldier, has returned from battle with the scars to prove it both physically and mentally. He is in the closet and wants to start a new life and find out who he is outside of the confines of the military. He bumps into Beck one day and discovers that he is a tattoo artist, which is great because that’s exactly what he is looking to do.

The tattoo scene was the best part of the book for me, the chemistry was smoking and I was really excited to read on. After this though, things move on quite quickly and there is a lot of back and forth – neither one is sure they are ready for a commitment due to numerous issues they are both having to deal with in their lives at the present moment but they keep being drawn to each other and so they don’t really know if it’s the right time to pursue a relationship or not.

However, their moments together were cute and they made a great couple. Overall, I thought it was an okay read 🙂
