She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Review

New Adult at its finest! I loved this story, and although this storyline has been done to death, if done right I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. Thankfully, this was written to perfection.

Garrett Graham is the captain of the Ice Hockey team at Briars. He is extremely dedicated to the game and needs to keep up his GPA otherwise his dream of going pro is going to put in jeopardy. When he fails an important paper he decides to seek help from his fellow classmate Hannah.

Hannah Wells is just an ordinary girl, she is a music major and generally just blends into the background around campus. She has her eye on a hot football player but it seems that he doesn’t even notice her and she is determined to try and make that happen.

When Garrett comes up with a deal for Hannah to help her get her man while she helps him get his grade, they enter into what is a quirky friendship full of bickering and hilarious banter.

I have read a few of Elle Kennedy’s books before but this is her first foray into New Adult and I was interested to see if I would enjoy it as much as her steamy reads. Well, I can tell you now that I was extremely pleased to find that it exceeded my expectations. The characters were absolutely adorable and had a depth of character that made them so real.

Hannah was just an ordinary girl who had self confidence and it showed. She had been through a lot in her past, but other than make her feel insecure in the bedroom, she was obviously a stronger woman because of it. She did not bow down to the hot guy like so many heroines in NA books do. She was entirely her own person.

Garrett, although he did indulge in the occasional puck bunny, was a gentle giant who clearly respected women. There is no way you can read this book and not fall for him.

I love a slow burning romance where the couple are friends first but clearly have growing feelings for each other, and the pace of this was perfect. The angst was minimal, the sex was steamy and the banter was hilarious.

My favourite scene :-

“Penises!
Sweet Jesus.
Penises everywhere.
Horror slams into me as I register what I’m seeing. Oh God. I’ve stumbled onto a penis convention. Big penises and small penises and fat penises and penis-shaped penises. It doesn’t matter which direction I move my head because everywhere I look I see penises.”

This is the first in the Off-Campus series, and I am very excited to see which one of Garrett’s team mates will get a story next. They were all equally as gorgeous and funny as he was.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend 😀
