Nobody But You (Cedar Ridge, #3) by Jill Shalvis REVIEW

After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She’s broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy who’s now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob’s dark intensity makes her want to tease—and tempt—him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

★★★ 3 Stars ★★★

Nobody But You is my first read from author Jill Shalvis, and came recommended to me as a sweet and light read. Set in the Colorado lake town of Cedar Ridge amongst the mountains and pine trees, we are introduced to two characters who are both averse to falling in love.

Sophie Marren is recently divorced from her philandering husband and living on what used to be his prized possession – his boat! Spending her days battling sea sickness, trying to find a free place to moor, and working various temp jobs, her life takes a turn for the better when she finds herself regularly bumping into the sexy lake patrol guy.

“He was a smart enough guy to get that she was the one for him. He was also smart enough to know that he was going to have to work his ass off for it.”

Jacob Kincaid is back in his home town after many years in the military and is determined to make amends with his family, his twin brother specifically.

Whilst Sophie is not in a rush to jump into another relationship so soon after her divorce, and Jacob who is due to go back on duty in a few weeks, they are determined to have a no strings attached summer of fun.

Great banter, wonderful chemistry and an enjoyable read. A solid three-star rating from me.

Nobody But You is a standalone contemporary romance, told in third person POV.

ARC gratefully received from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
