I just love this series, Elle Kennedy has once again transported me back to this world of Briar University and the Ice Hockey team and all the wonderfully entertaining characters that inhabit it.
Dean has been on my radar since The Deal and now we are up to the third in the Off-Campus series and finally it is his turn to fall, and fall he does; unexpectedly, and for a girl he has always kept at arms length.
Defensemen Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis is into casual sex and makes no secret that he is not looking for a girlfriend. He is content with life, has great friends, a supportive family and more money than he could ever need. He is also pretty cocky and extremely confident but deep down a loyal friend and pretty damn intelligent.
“I like to fuck. I fuck a lot. So sue me.”
Allie Hayes is best friends with Hannah, who is our heroine from book 1 and girlfriend to Captain, Garrett. She is a ‘nester’ and loves to be in a relationship, and having just split up from her long term boyfriend she is trying to move on and work out how to juggle her future aspirations with caring for her sick father. She is studying drama and her plan has always been to move to LA after graduation and focus on her acting career.
So, what happens when a manwhore and a girl who prefers watching French soap operas to partying, find themselves stuck in the Hockey house with a bottle of tequila? The answer to that is a highly entertaining read, with many laugh out loud moments, lots of HIGH steamy encounters and also some very heartbreaking scenes.
Dean was adorable and the fact that he was caught so offguard with his need to pursue Allie melted my heart, as did his interaction with the middle school hockey team that he was volunteering for.
Allie, Allie, Allie – she was a pleasantly surprising character. Quite sassy, a complete dark horse in the bedroom and with a huge heart of gold. I loved her.
“I love her shamelessness, how she’s up for anything and completely unapologetic about it. Just like me.”
A fantastic addition to the series, now we just have to wait for the next one which sounds like it’s going to be a blast!
The Score is the third book in the Off-Campus series but can be read as a standalone. Told in dual POV.
