This is War, Baby by K. Webster REVIEW

My life had a plan. Until he invaded it and stole it all away. My captor took me and I became a pawn.

His strategy changed and he sent me away to WAR, because money is everything in this world.

In my WAR, though, I found peace.

I couldn’t help but find love where I least expected it, with a man who lived a battle every day of his life
…all inside his head.

But then my captor came back for me.
Yet, this time, battle lines had been drawn and I was protected.

So we thought.
Even though my WAR was raging,
my captor would fight to the death.

The good guys always win, right?
Not always.

All’s fair in love and WAR, right?
Not this time.

This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

I have no words, this book was as crazy as shit!

The first part of the book was extremely dark and twisted, I almost put it in the freezer to keep my sanity. I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading and wasn’t sure if I could handle what the author was throwing at me, it almost seemed too much.

But then things took an unexpected turn and I was pleasantly surprised with the turn of events and calmed myself down for a more normal reading experience.

I absolutely loved War, and Baylee was a great character who despite her young age was mature and very sweet.

“War is an ocean I’ll never be able to navigate.”

I am so glad I didn’t read reviews before reading this myself, as the not knowing where this story was going definitely added to my enjoyment.

The flashbacks were a little annoying, and I am not sure some of them added to the story, but it was a minor irritation. This was a well thought out, exciting read.

This is War, Baby is part one of two and is a dark romance. This is Love, Baby is out now. Told in dual POV
