I loved this! For an unedited book, it was a brilliantly written story and I am high fiving Colleen Hoover for her dark side. So unexpected, but welcome.
Our heroine Sloan is in a controlling relationship with a college campus drug dealer, and whilst she thinks she feels a somewhat warped version of love for him, it soon becomes clear that she is in an abusive relationship, and chooses to stay for purely unselfish reasons.
She meets a man in her Spanish class and realises that her love for boyfriend Asa is not that real at all. Carter makes her laugh and she is glad to have him as her little secret, that is, until he turns up at her house one day as an acquaintance of Asa.
I adored Sloan and Carter together, and I don’t want to push their greatness aside, but Asa totally stole the show for me. He was such an awesome baddie, I loved to hate him. His point of view was intriguing to say the least, and Colleen didn’t hold back at all, he was bad to the core and I loved being in his mind, he made me laugh on many occasions with his deluded thoughts.
“Sloan is not a whore. She’s heroin,” I whisper. “Heroin is nice.”
If you get a chance to get on Wattpad and read this little gem, I highly recommend doing so. You might be surprised.
Too Late is a standalone dark-ish romance and can be read for free on Wattpad. Told in multiple POVs
