1980: You Shook Me All Night Long (Love in the 80s: A New Adult Mix) by Casey L. Bond REVIEW

My name is Tina. I’m a freshman at USC, a good student and friend…

And I’m a victim.

Hot guys make my brain turn to mush. So, the fact that I was arrested then survived a massive earthquake only to be shackled to the fox next to me can all be overlooked, right?

Okay, so I was arrested before I met Luke. A tremor that caused a blackout at the LAPD precinct where we were being held. Although technically, I wasn’t shackled to him, I was handcuffed, but still. Any and all lapses in my usual—totally sane, I might add—judgments, are his fault. Totally.

I wouldn’t typically do the things I did. I’m no outlaw. I’m a college student.

Review

★★★★ 4 Stars ★★★★

For a short story this definitely packed a punch, and for an 80’s child it sure did make me smile.

Tina has just arrived in Cali to attend USC when she is led astray by her roommate and ends up getting arrested at a concert. This is where, dressed up in her lace tights, short shorts and wild Madonna hair, she meets sexy mechanic Luke, who is thrown into her cell for Grand Theft Auto.

“He was a kinky one! Dirty mechanic. Hot brother. Kinky motherfucker. Who knew?”

This was a cute and fun read, and I adored swoony Luke and sassy Tina and I loved re-living my youth with the 80’s setting. If you are looking for a short, entertaining and sweet read, then I urge you to consider this little gem.

If the author ever wants to expand on this story, I will be the first to read it!
